Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and a securely hashed password.
• Family content you provide:family history, photos, letters, and child profiles (a child's first name, age, and interests) that you choose to add. You decide what to share.
• Generated content: the stories, illustrations, and narration we create for you, which we store so you can revisit them.
• Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details — only a customer identifier and subscription status.
• Usage and attribution: basic analytics about how you found us (for example, a referral link or campaign source) and how the app is used.

How we use your information

• To generate and personalize stories for your family.
• To operate your account, process subscriptions, and provide support.
• To understand which channels bring families to StoryWeave so we can improve.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

Children's privacy

StoryWeave is intended for use by parents and guardians, not by children directly. Any information about a child is provided by an adult account holder. We use a child's details only to personalize that family's stories. We do not sell this information, and we do not use it to advertise to children. You can edit or delete child profiles at any time from your account.

AI processing

To create stories, illustrations, and narration, the prompts you provide are processed by third-party AI providers (such as AWS Bedrock and Amazon Polly) acting on our behalf. We send only what is needed to generate your content.

Sharing and public stories

Stories are private by default. When you create a share link, the story becomes viewable by anyone who has that link. If you additionally choose to make a story public, it may be indexed by search engines and listed in our sitemap. You can revoke public visibility at any time from the story page; note that search engines may take time to remove previously indexed pages.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate StoryWeave (hosting, storage, AI processing, and payments) under appropriate confidentiality obligations, or when required by law.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your content while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the address below. Some records may be retained as required for legal or accounting purposes.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your family's information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Contact us to exercise these rights.
